Christian Capozzoli is an American actor, author and improviser. He has a B.F.A. in Writing, Literature and Publishing from Emerson College and a Masters in Literature and Education from Harvard University.

He has been lucky to work with top comedic voices in TV and Film, including Stephen Colbert, Lena Dunham, Robert Smigel and Adam Sandler. He has appeared on Comedy Central’s Colbert Report, Amazon’s Red Oaks, HBO’s GIRLS and made his feature film debut in Netflix’s The Week Of.

 

Capozzoli has also served as a creative director and story consultant for Amazon. 

Capozzoli has worked alongside legendary comedic instructors Mick Napier, Charna Halpern and Armando Diaz. He's recognized as one of the top improv minds and instructors in the world. He’s been honored to teach and perform at almost every major improv comedy stage in North America and Europe, and has appeared in over 50 festivals around the world.

Capozzoli began improvising in New York City where he performed weekly at UCBNY with Bucky, Take It Personal and as a featured storyteller on The Nights of Our Lives. He was also a member of 4Track one of the most acclaimed improv teams in NYC, known for their high octane shows and relentless agreement. Capozzoli founded this format and today it is taught and performed all over the world.

Capozzoli has been cast in number of pilots, Motel Hell, Take It Personal, Take Back the Block, 4Track, and Flushed. He has appeared in short films which have screened at festivals around the world including the Toronto International Film Festival and Stanley Film festival. His work has also been featured on Splitsider, Buzzfeed, Funny or Die, and College Humor.

​His self-published novel Jetsam County is speculative fiction set in the American Frontier when a space ship crashes into the Rockies, changing the lives of those settled there, and the course of history, forever.

  • He volunteers teaching improv to at-risk-youth as well as senior centers using his methods to empower the individual and celebrate ensemble.

  • While in New York, Capozzoli was a theatre arts professor at Marymount Manhattan College.

  • He designed an improv curriculum for New York City High schools and has done additional volunteer work helping with research to gauge the social effects of improvisation on children with autism.

  • In recent years, Capozzoli has brought his improvisation techniques to expressive therapists and clinicians in Central MA (graduates of Lesley and Tufts University), with the hope that it empowers clinicians to better treat their patients.
